Chicaoji is a medium heat hot sauce based on superfoods goji berries, cacao and chipotles. Ingredients are organic, vegan, gluten-free, GMO-free and Paleo/low FODMAP friendly.
Chicaoji was created guided by the principle that “Food is Medicine”.
The name comes from: CHIpotle + caCAO + goJI = CHICAOJI. Say “Chick OW gee”.
Chicaoji Sauce tastes good on just about everything! Unique blend of goji berries, cacao and chipotles combines sweet, sour, salt, bitter, savory and spicy.
Ingredients (in descending order): Apple cider vinegar, Water, Goji berries, Chipotles (smoked jalapeños), Maple syrup (organic from Maple Valley Cooperative), Celtic Sea Salt®, Cacao nibs.
No preservatives, flavorings, colorings or additives of any kind.
Sweet-tangy goji berries balance cacao’s chocolate bitterness. Tart vinegar complements sweet maple. Smoky chipotles add gentle heat. Sea salt ties it all together.
Goal: healthy, nutritious condiment that enhances any food—even a bowl of water.
Chicaoji is a true “taste of Lopez Island”, born summer 2007 from Randall Waugh’s experiments at Vortex Juice Bar & Cafe, guided by community taste-testers.
